Recent report of a local Pakistani agency has estimated the price comparison of the telecom related offers, with the basic human needs in Pakistan. According to that interesting report, in just five years the prices of the bread (Roti) increased three times, and the prices of the SMSs becomes 26 times less. In 2003, the price of one SMS was 6 Rs. And the Roti was of just 2 Rs. Now the one SMS can cost upto .19 Rs. The previous President of Pakistan had given the advice to his public to eat cakes instead of Roti, the advice is somewhat understandable, but the cheapness of SMS is a strange thing in comparison. This all report is very obvious to every person living in Pakistan. Every person in Pakistan is facing a good opportunities that are given by the telecom companies, but the Roti prices for the persons living under edge has made them from hand to mouth. In 2004, the SMS price reduced to 5 Rs. And the price of Roti become 2.50 Rs. With an increment of .50 Rs. In the year 2005 the same scenario continued. The SMS price reduced to 2 Rs and the Roti become 3 Rs. The story goes on, in the same way and the recent year 2008 analysis shows that the price of the SMS reduced to .33 Rs and the Roti was sell at Rs 5 everywhere. In 2009, the SMS prices become 1 paisa and the Roti is selling at 7 Rs in some parts of the country. Thanks to Mr. Shahbaz Sharif for giving the Roti in 2 Rs. But what is for the rest of the country.
The revenue that is generated from the telecom industry should be consumed on the betterment of the people, because the same revenue is earning from the people of the country.
There is only option that come into the mind, after reading the whole analysis, that option is should we EAT SMS!!!
